BISHOP, Ga. --- The No. 3 Georgia equestrian team topped No. 10 New Mexico State, 17-2, Sunday at the UGA Equestrian Complex to complete the double-header weekend. With the win, Georgia improves to 2-1 on the season.
Senior, captain Meg O'Mara earned MOP honors for her rides in both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat. Graysen Stroud earned the honors in Horsemanship.
"Wins always feel great but there are still some things we can continue to work on," Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig said. "What was great about today is coming off yesterday's win, having to refocus, and for some of these riders, it was a third test to think about. It's really a prime place to make mistakes and I thought they did an incredible job adjusting to that and really eliminating those mistakes. So, for that I am really proud."
Georgia jumped to an early lead, winning Equitation Over Fences 4-1. O'Mara scored an event-high and MOP-earning 82 to claim the first point over New Mexico State's Erica Rosinski's score of 74.
