Bulldog Riders Down Delaware State 10-6

DOVER, Del. ----- The second-ranked Georgia Equestrian team won its fourth consecutive dual meet when it defeated Delaware State 10-6 here at the Gambler's Choice Equestrian Center on Saturday.

With this victory the Bulldogs improved to 10-2 on the season. The hunt seat team continued its strong showing, defeating DSU 3-1 over fences and drawing to a 2-2 tie in equitation on the flat. Carly Anthony earned her third MVP of the season on the flat with a score of 89, which became the highest score of the day.

Michelle Morris also posted a pair of wins on the day and freshman Abby O'Mara also picked up a win over fences.

"We always enjoy traveling to Delaware State," Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig said. "They are wonderful hosts and this was a great opportunity for us to ride different horses as we prepare for our national championships in April. We had some strong rides today and it was great to see the team come out with a victory."

In the Western arena, Georgia rode to a 2-2 tie in the horsemanship. Anna Sasser earned her third horsemanship MVP of the season with a 73-72.5 victory over Brittany Good. Maria Salazar also picked up a victory defeating Jennifer Pierson, 73-71.5.

"It is exciting to see the western group come together as a unit, said Georgia Western assistant Mary Meneely. They have been working tremendously hard and their efforts have starting paying off. It's exciting to see this team getting stronger as the season continues."

Georgia's reiners wrapped up the day with a 3-1 victory, highlighted by Diandra St. Hilaire's 73-71 victory over Brittini Collins. With this St. Hilaire also picked up her fourth MVP of the season. Other point winners included Hannah Dyer and McKenzie Lantz.

Georgia looks ahead to next weekend when they travel to Fort Worth to compete against the TCU Horned Frogs. Competition is set to begin at 10:00 (CT) on Saturday, March 12th.
