BISHOP, Ga. ---- Highlighted by four Fences rides that netted scores in the 90s, third-ranked Georgia steamrolled Tennessee-Martin 14-0 here Sunday afternoon to take the team championship of the inaugural Bulldog Invitational tournament.

In the consolation match, won points in every event, including a 4-0 sweep of the Western Horsemanship rides, to take a 9-5 win over New Mexico State.

The Bulldogs were nearly perfect in taking 14 of a possible 16 points overall. They claimed MVP honors in all four events, as they did Saturday in defeating New Mexico State. Foremost among them were a pair of seniors making their final competitive appearances at a home Equestrian meet: Kacy Jenkins in the Fences event with a 95, the highest score by any rider on the day, and Hannah Dyer, who led off the Reining competition with a 1.5-point victory and a score of 74.

"It was a very exciting day all around, especially giving prizes for such outstanding scores," Georgia coach Meghan Boenig said. "We just had another really solid day with some very, very good rides. All in all, the team just came together the entire weekend, worked well together, and when the parts and pieces come together, it makes for a very successful weekend.

"I'm so proud of Kacy (Jenkins) and Hannah for the way they closed out their home careers with MVP rides. It was both exciting and very emotional to see them ride so strong."

Georgia's Carly Anthony got the morning session off successfully with a 91 on the first ride of the first event, Equitation over Fences. All three of her teammates followed with with similar results: Olivia Dorey with a 93, Abby O'Mara a 90 and finally Jenkins with her 95. None of the four was hardly challenged by the Skyhawks, with the smallest margin of victory being O'Mara's 10-point win.

The Bulldogs' Horsemanship riders took three of four points, led by Katelyn Van Allen's MVP ride and followed by wins from Maria Salazar and Anna Sasser.

In the afternoon session, Georgia's Equitation on the Flat group continued its Hunt Seat domination by taking all four points. Anthony and O'Mara won points in both events, and had help from MVP Michelle Morris and also Grace Rogers.

The Bulldogs won three of four points in Reining as well, led by Dyer's MVP honor. Fellow senior Diandra St. Hilaire also picked up a victorious point, as did Becca Haaland.

Georgia will now conclude its regular season with road competitions on the next two weekends. The Bulldogs will travel to Delaware State for a March 5 meet and will face Texas Christian in Fort Worth on March 12 before competing in the Southern EQ Championships at South Carolina on March 25-26.
