'Dogs Suffer First Losing Season; Still Manage Wins Over Tech, Tenn.
FINAL RECORDS:
Overall: 6-7; SEC: 3-5
Home: 5-1; Away: 1-4; Neutral: 0-2
Despite its first losing season (6-7) since 1996, Georgia still managed victories over big rivals Tennessee and Georgia Tech.
The Dawgs suffered a variety of player losses in 2010 but showed heart in rebounding from a 1-4 start to earn its 14th consecutive bowl invitation after playing nine teams that also earned bowl bids.
A continuing point of pride in the Richt era is the 201 football players who have earned degrees since 2001.
Georgia's Attendance Average Ranks Seventh Nationally
Despite a 6-7 record, Georgia's average home football attendance of 92,746 ranked seventh best in the country for the 2010 season according to NCAA statistics.
The 92,746 figure represents a sellout in all six Bulldog home games. The seventh-place finish marks the 28th time in the last 29 years that Georgia has ranked among the nation's top seven teams in average home attendance.
