A Look At The Bulldogs In Professional Baseball

ATHENS, GA. – Here is the latest update on the 43 former Georgia Bulldogs playing professional baseball.
MAJOR LEAGUE LEVEL
Currently, the Bulldogs at the Major League level are pitchers Emerson Hancock and Cole Wilcox, both with the Seattle Mariners. Infielder Kyle Farmer, who has logged 10 years in the Majors, spent much of this season with the Atlanta Braves. However, he is now playing for their Triple-A affiliate, the Gwinnett Stripers.
Hancock, a first-round pick of the Seattle Mariners in 2020, is enjoying his finest season in the Majors. While the Mariners have struggled offensively and have a 57-65 record, Hancock has provided the team with 22 starts. The right-hander is 6-7 with a 3.35 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 121 innings.
Wilcox is in his fifth full season of professional baseball after being a third-round pick of the San Diego Padres in 2020. Last November, he was traded to the Mariners and has been utilized as a reliever. For the year, the right-hander has made 23 relief appearances. He is 0-0 with a 4.00 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 27 innings. On Aug. 7, he was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a left oblique strain.
TRIPLE-A
Jonathan Cannon, a third-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in 2022, spent time in Chicago as a reliever but has been with the Charlotte Knights since May appearing in 20 games with 15 starts. He is 5-4 with a 5.02 ERA, tallying 90 strikeouts in 95 innings.
Will Childers, a member of the Milwaukee Brewers organization, is in his second season in Nashville after a brief stint in Double-A Biloxi. A former 30th-round pick of Arizona in 2019, the right-hander is a combined 2-3 with a 4.30 ERA and five saves in 34 relief appearances this year. He has 31 strikeouts in 37.2 innings.
Charlie Condon, a first-round pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2024, could be the next Bulldog to make his MLB debut. The infielder/outfielder has been selected to represent the Rockies in the MLB All-Star Futures Game during All-Star weekend the past two years. He is having his finest season as a professional with the Albuquerque Isotopes. In 98 games, Condon is batting .276 with 18 doubles, seven triples, 22 home runs, 73 RBI and a .925 OPS. He has made starts at first base, right field and designated hitter.
Farmer, an eighth-round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2013, was a utility player for the Atlanta Braves after making the team out of Spring Training. He batted.267 with three RBI in 12 games before being released in July. The Atlanta native signed a minor league contract with the organization and was assigned to the Gwinnett Stripers. He has appeared in 13 games with a .255 batting average and five RBI in 47 at bats.
Dylan Ross, a 13th-round pick of the New York Mets in 2022, made his professional debut at the end of the 2024 season after recovering from elbow surgery. He had a tremendous year in 2025 when he climbed all three levels of the minors and had his contract purchased by the Mets on Sept. 27. While he did get the call to the Majors, he did not appear in a game. This year, he has battled injuries and has returned to Triple-A Syracuse where he has made 32 relief appearances. Ross has a 4-1 mark, a 7.49 ERA and three saves in 33.2 innings with 43 strikeouts.
Ryan Webb is in his fifth season in the Cleveland Guardians organization after being a fourth-round pick in 2021. Now a member of the Columbus Clippers, the left-hander is 2-5 with an 8.85 ERA in 24 games including 13 starts. He has tallied 63 strikeouts in 61 innings.
Jaden Woods is in his fourth professional campaign and now a member of the Chicago White Sox organization after being part of a July trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was selected by the Pirates in the seventh round of the 2023 draft and had reached their Triple-A affiliate in Indianapolis prior to the trade. Currently, the left-hander owns a 4-2 record this season, appearing in 36 games in relief. In 47.2 innings, he has 68 strikeouts. With the Charlotte Knights, he is 1-0 with a 3.48 ERA and two saves in eight games covering a span of 10.1 innings with 13 strikeouts.
DOUBLE-A
A sixth-round pick of the New York Mets in 2024, Corey Collins recently was promoted to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. The first baseman is batting a combined .244 with 11 doubles, three triples, 12 home runs and 45 RBI in 87 games across a pair of affiliates.
Brian Curley, a third-round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2025, was promoted to the Amarillo Sod Poodles on July 17. The right-hander has made five starts for them and is 1-2 with a 4.85 ERA. In 26 innings, he has 20 strikeouts. This year across three minor league stops, he is 5-6 with a 4.61 ERA in 20 games including 18 starts. He has pitched 95.2 innings with 110 strikeouts.
JT Quinn, a second-round pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 2025, joined the Chesapeake Baysox this past Tuesday. The right-hander went 4-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 21 games including 20 starts for the Advanced-A Frederick Keys club before his promotion. In 93.2 innings, he registered 106 strikeouts.
SINGLE-A
Slate Alford, a ninth-round pick of the Los Angeles Angels in 2025, has alternated between the ACL rookie league team and the single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. The right-handed hitting third baseman is batting .261 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 37 RBI in 56 games.
Kolby Branch, an eighth-round pick of the Texas Rangers in 2026, made his professional debut this month for the Hickory Crawdads. Through his first 11 games, the right-handed hitting infielder is batting .136 with three RBI, two walks and a stolen base. He has made 10 starts at third base and one at shortstop.
Robbie Burnett, who signed a free agent deal with the New York Yankees organization in 2025, has fought through injuries and returned to the Hudson Valley Renegades. The right-handed hitting outfielder is batting .264 with seven doubles, six home run and 22 RBI in 37 games.
Davis Chastain, a 14th-round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2025, is now with the Advanced-A level Great Lakes Loons The right-hander is 8-1 with a 2.72 ERA and five saves in 35 relief appearances over two levels this year. In 46.1 innings, he has 65 strikeouts.
Alton Davis II, an 11th-round pick of the Los Angeles Angels in 2025, has seen action mostly as a starter for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. The left-hander is 5-8 with a 9.00 ERA in 19 appearances including 16 starts. In 68 innings, he has tallied 74 strikeouts.
Leighton Finley, a sixth-round pick of the Boston Red Sox in 2025, is starting for the Salem Ridge Yaks. The right-hander is 6-4 with a 4.87 ERA in 18 appearances including 14 starts. In 81. Innings, he has 81 strikeouts.
Fernando Gonzalez, a 20th-round pick of the San Francisco Giants in 2024, was limited to just 27 games in his first full professional season due to injury. This year, the right-handed hitting catcher has played in 40 games and has a .272 batting average with six doubles, three home runs and 22 RBI for the San Jose Giants.
Eric Hammond, who signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Twins in 2025, made his professional debut this year. The right-hander is a member of the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels and has seen action as a starter and reliever. In 22 games including seven starts, he is 1-4 with a 5.00 ERA, and one save. In 54 innings, he has 55 strikeouts.
Zach Harris, an 11th-round pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2025, returned to the Fresno Grizzlies this year where he ended his first season, but injuries have hampered him. The right-hander was 1-1 with a 6.32 ERA in 13 relief appearances. He tossed 15.2 innings with 18 strikeouts before landing on the 60-day injured list on July 29.

Henry Hunter, who last year initially signed with the Florence (KY) Y'alls, an independent professional team in the Frontier League, is now in the Cincinnati Reds organization. The left-handed hitting catcher is with the Daytona Tortuas after signing a free agent deal with the Reds last October. In 57 games this season, he is batting .167 with 10 doubles, one triple four home runs and 26 RBI.
Daniel Jackson, a first-round pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2026, made his professional debut this week and went 2-for-3 with a double, home run and two walks in his first game. The right-handed hitting catcher, who was the 37th overall pick, is batting .182 in three games with three walks and one stolen base.
Chandler Marsh, who originally signed with the New York Mets as an undrafted free agent in 2024, now is a member of the Frederick Keys in the Baltimore Orioles system. The right-hander is 4-3 with a 3.92 ERA and five saves in 36 relief appearances. In 43.2 innings, he has 60 strikeouts.
Nolan McCarthy, who signed a free agent contract with the Detroit Tigers in February of 2026, has played at three levels this year. Currently, he is in Advanced A with the West Michigan Whitecaps. A right-handed hitting outfielder, he has combined to hit .238 with five doubles, four home runs and 22 RBI in 37 games this year.
Tyler McLoughlin, a 10th-round pick of the New York Mets in 2025, has been a reliever for the St. Lucie Mets. The right-hander is 3-2 with a 9.17 ERA, and one save in 29 games. He has pitched 36.1 innings with 50 strikeouts.
Tre Phelps, a ninth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2026, made his professional debut this month for the Bradenton Marauders. Through his first five games, the right-handed hitting third baseman is batting .100 with one home run, two RBI, three walks and one stolen base.
Kolten Smith, a 12th-round pick of the Minnesota Twins in 2025, has pitched at two levels this year and has a combined record of 2-7 with a 5.02 ERA in 24 games including 12 starts. Liam Sullivan, a 13th-round pick of the Washington Nationals in 2023, has pitched at two levels this season. Currently, the left-hander is with the Advanced A league Wilmington Blue Rocks. This year, he is 4-5 with a 5.40 ERA, and one save in 22 games including 15 starts. In 75 innings, he has 84 strikeouts and just seven walks.
Ryan Wynn, a seventh-round pick of the Seattle Mariners in 2026, made his professional debut this month for the Inland Empire 66ers. Through his first six games, the right-handed hitting infielder is batting .273 with one home run and three RBI. He has made three starts at second base, two at shortstop and one as a designated hitter.
Ryland Zaborowski, who signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels in 2025, made his professional debut this year after recovering from an elbow injury. He has played at three levels and earlier this month was promoted to the Advanced A Tri-City Dust Devils. A third baseman, he has combined to hit .285 with 12 doubles, 15 home runs and 65 RBI in 59 games this year.
Also, the following Bulldogs who signed as 2026 draft picks have yet to make their professional debut: pitcher Joey Volchko (3rd round, Chicago White Sox), outfielder Rylan Lujo (4th round, Los Angeles Angels), pitcher Justin Byrd (6th round, Los Angeles Angels), pitcher Caden Aoki (7th round, Texas), pitcher Dylan Vigue (7thround, Kansas City), pitcher Matt Scott (8th round, Cleveland), pitcher Caleb Jameson (12th round, Arizona) and two-way player Kenny Ishikawa (13th round, Cincinnati).
Independent League
Ryan Black, who completed his Bulldog career this past June, signed with the Cleburne (Texas) Railroaders, an independent team that plays in the American Association League. The left-handed hitting infielder/outfielder has played in 10 games. He is batting .233 with one home run, two RBI and one stolen base.
Matthew Hoskins, a 12th-round pick of the Kansas City Royals in 2025, made his professional debut this year, and it came as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays organization after being part of a trade in March. The right-hander pitched for their rookie affiliate, the FCL Rays. He went 0-0 with a 3.75 ERA in 11 games covering 12 innings before being released in late July. This month, Hoskins signed with the Lexington Legends of the professional independent Atlantic League. They are an affiliated Partner League to MLB. In his first three appearances with the Legends, he has tossed 3.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and two walks.
Aaron Schunk, a second-round pick of Colorado in 2019 who reached the Majors with the Rockies in 2024, signed a minor league contract with the Braves last December. An infielder, he spent much of this season in Triple-A with Gwinnett where he batted .237 with 21 doubles, six home runs and 43 RBI. However, after playing in 87 games with the Stripers, he was released in late July. This month, Schunk signed with the Lancaster Stormers of the professional independent Atlantic League. They are an affiliated Partner League to MLB. Through his first eight games with the Stormers, he is batting .429 with four doubles, one home run and nine RBI.

An infielder, he spent much of this season in Triple-A with Gwinnett where he batted .237 with 21 doubles, six home runs and 43 RBI. However, after playing in 87 games with the Stripers, he was released in late July. This month, Schunk signed with the Lancaster Stormers of the professional independent Atlantic League. They are an affiliated Partner League to MLB. Through his first eight games with the Stormers, he is batting .429 with four doubles, one home run and nine RBI.
