Georgia Women’s Basketball Set to Travel to SMU for 2026 SEC/ACC Challenge

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Matchups for the fourth annual SEC/ACC Challenge have been announced, with Georgia women's basketball set to travel to Dallas, Texas to face SMU at Moody Coliseum on Wednesday, Dec. 2, the conference announced Friday morning.  

The Lady Bulldogs and the Mustangs will meet for just the third time in school history and for the first time in Dallas. The last meeting came during the 1999 NCAA Tournament in Athens, when Georgia defeated SMU, 68-55, in the second round. That Lady Bulldog squad went on to advance to the Final Four . 

Head coach Ayla Guzzardo will begin her first season leading the Georgia women's basketball program after impressive stints at both McNeese State and Southeastern Louisiana. Guzzardo was named the fourth head coach in program history back in April.  

Georgia added 11 newcomers to its roster this offseason, highlighted by ACC All-Freshman selection Milan Brown, Big East All-Tournament Team honoree Jordana Codio and Southland Conference freshman of the year Dakota Howard.
