Women’s Shot Put Duo Advance to Eugene on Day Two of the NCAA East Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kelsie Murrell-Ross and Nina Ndubuisi both punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the shot put while the Georgia women combined for 16 advancing performances on the track Thursday.

- Murrell-Ross and Ndubuisi punched the first two tickets for the Bulldog women in the shot put. Murrell-Ross' mark of 17.63m/57-10.25 was second overall. Ndubuisi took sixth with a throw of 17.36m/56-11.5. This marks both thrower's third straight trips to Eugene.
- The Georgia women had an impressive day on the track with 16 advancing performances.
- A trio of Bulldogs advanced in the women's 100m hurdles quarterfinals after Thursday's first round. Freshman Taylor Cox led the way with a 12.75 (3.0), the third-fastest time of the day. Fellow freshman Maddi Cooper also contributed a career best performance of 12.97 (0.0) for ninth place. Freshman Zoe Ziglor's finish of 13.26 (0.0) claimed one of the last quarterfinal qualifying spots.
- Georgia advanced five Bulldogs in the 100m dash, starting with freshman Adaejah Hodge who posted the top time of 10.86 (0.3), which registers as a facility record. Senior Kaila Jackson followed in third at 11.06 (0.6). Fellow senior Jassani Carter clocked a season-best of 11.08 (-0.3) for the fifth overall spot. Sophomore Reign Redmond finished at a career-best 11.21 (-0.3) and freshman Lisa Raye rounded out the advancing Bulldogs at 11.34 (0.6).
- Over in the 400m, three Bulldogs advanced to the quarterfinals. Seniors Dejanea Oakley and Vimbayi Maisvorewa earned automatic qualifying spots, with Oakley finishing third overall at 50.60 and Maisvorewa 14th at a season best of 51.44. Freshman Tianna Springer grabbed the last spot for Georgia with a finish of 51.84.
- In the 400m hurdles, sophomore Michelle Smith advanced to the quarterfinals with a fourth place overall finish at 55.84.
- To round out the night four Bulldogs earned additional advancements to the 200m dash quarterfinals. Hodge clocked the competition's fastest time at 22.34, Carter followed in fourth with a season best of 22.57, Jackson in fifth with a season best of 22.59 and Raye in 19th at 23.16.
