Three Bulldogs Advance to Eugene On First Day Of NCAA East Regional Prelims

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Jordan Davis, Nick Reynolds and Jayden Keys all punched tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the field events, while the Bulldogs posted five advancing times on the track to close out day one of competition on Wednesday evening.

The Georgia men wasted no time in the men's javelin, as both Bulldogs secured tickets on their first throws. Davis' first-round heave of 78.37m/257-1 remained the top mark of the competition. Reynolds followed in second, throwing the competition's second-best mark of 74.49m/244-4.
The Bulldog duo became the first pair of Georgia javelin throwers to punch their tickets to nationals simultaneously since 1998.
Keys would collect the Bulldogs' final ticket of the night in the men's long jump. Keys' leap of 7.72m/25-4 was good for eighth place. This marks Keys' second consecutive trip to Eugene in the long jump.
Both Bulldog 110m hurdlers advanced to the quarterfinals on Friday. Freshman Le'Ezra Brown led the way, finishing fourth overall at 13.35, while Keys finished 15th at 13.64 to advance to his second event of the evening.
Georgia would continue the trend in the 400m, with both Bulldogs advancing to Friday evening's quarterfinals. Freshman Jonathan Simms won his heat and finished second overall at 44.65. Fellow freshman Sidi Njie finished right behind Simms at a career-best 44.74.
Junior Mohamed Adoini grabbed the final quarterfinal qualifying spot with a 49.99 finish in the 400m hurdles, while winning his heat.

The Georgia women will open competition at the NCAA East Regional on Thursday night in the women's long jump with senior Ella Rush and freshmen Ava Kitchings and Chelsi Williams at 6:00 p.m. Action on the track will also open at 6:00 p.m. with Williams and fellow freshmen Maddi Cooper, Taylor Cox, Rylee Hampton and Zoe Ziglor in the women's 100m hurdles first round.
