Bulldog Duo Clock Sub-4 Minute Mile to Open Torrin Lawrence Memorial

ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia track & field nabs a pair of sub-4-minute miles to open the Torrin Lawrence Memorial on Friday night at the Spec Town Track.
The Bulldog duo of Matias Reynaga and Ryan Olree attempted a sub-4-minute mile during the indoor season but fell short, with Reynaga at 4:00.24 and Olree at 4:01.59.
However, tonight under the Spec Towns lights the Bulldog duo made history recording the first sub-4-minute mile in Georgia history. Reynaga crossed the line first at 3:59.28 and Olree followed in second with a last second surge to finish at 3:59.74.
Reynaga remains undefeated on the season, earning his third victory on the season tonight.
Action starts back up tomorrow for the Bulldogs on the track at 12:20 p.m. with the women's 4x100 meter relay with Sanaa Frederick, Ava Kitchings, Celeste Robinson and Lisa Raye.
On the men's side, action also starts with the 4x100 meter relay featuring Le'Ezra Brown, Jayden Dailey, Jayden Deon Finley and Brayden Williams at 12:25 p.m..
Tomorrow is packed with events being both Alumni and Senior day. Recognitions begin with honoring Bulldog legend Torrin Lawrence at Noon. The Senior Recognition is scheduled for 2:50 p.m.
