40 Georgia Equestrians Receive NCEA Academic Honors

WACO, Texas – 40 members of the Georgia equestrian team were recognized by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) for their efforts in the classroom, the association announced Wednesday.
Seniors Maggie Bresch, Tessa Brown, Ella Duffy, Kendall McClintock, juniors Lyla Bellar, Parker Cliff, Liza Cram, Tessa Downey, Madison Nadolenco and Abbey Zawisza and sophomore Ella Witt were placed on the NCEA All-Academic First Team. Recipients must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of the school's meets. They also must have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters.
Senior Alyvia Dixon earned All-Academic Second Team honors, which is given to those who earn a 3.25 GPA. Senior Shelby Lynch and junior Cadence Eger were awarded honorable mention for earning a 3.0 or better.
Bellar, Bresch, Brown, Cliff, Kinsey Cooper, Cram, Sarina Da Cruz, Kendall Dean, Dixon, Downey, Duffy, Caroline Fletcher, Mis Frigon, Aggie Hahn, Madison Hill, Emma Lackey, McClintock, Nadolenco, Aphrodite Papandreou, Sienna Pilla, Lendon Reeder, Ellie Royal, Lauren Sanders, Devin VanZanten, Witt and Zawisza represented the Bulldogs on the NCEA Academic Honor Roll. The top academic student-athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment earn a spot on the list.
Next, the Bulldogs are seeded third for the NCEA National Championship taking place April 16-18 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida. The reigning national champions are looking to defend their title as they take on sixth-seeded Oklahoma State in the first round.
