BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Georgia track and field athlete Alon Rogow and swimmer Shea Furse were nominated for the 2025-26 Southeastern Conference H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete of the Year, as announced by the league office Monday.

The winners of the men's and women's awards, selected by the SEC Faculty Athletic Representatives, will be announced in late April. The winners will receive $20,000 postgraduate scholarships, continuing a tradition dating back to 1986. The remaining male and female finalists will receive a $10,000 scholarship.

The Georgia women's swimming and diving program has previously produced nine Boyd McWhorter Award winners, the most of any single SEC athletic program. In recent years, Callie Dickinson (2023) and Abby McCulloh (2025) were honored with the award. Rogow is the second Georgia men's track athlete nominated in the past three years, joining distance runner Wesley John in 2024.
