Georgia Men Finish Fourth, Women Eighth at SEC Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Georgia swimming and diving teams concluded competition at the 2026 SEC Swimming & Diving Championships Saturday at the University of Tennessee Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
 
The Georgia men finished fourth for the second-consecutive year with 721 points, while the Bulldog women placed eighth with 604 points. Texas swept the conference championships for the second straight season.

  • Women's 400y Freestyle Relay – Freshman Kennedi Dobson, sophomores Katie Belle Sikes and Marie Landreneau, and senior Ieva Maluka finished fifth with a season-best A-cut time of 3:13.49. Dobson led off with a personal-best 100y freestyle of 48.17, earning another NCAA cut, while Maluka closed with a 48.65 anchor leg.
  • Men's 400y Freestyle Relay – Graduate Luca Urlando, junior Tomas Koski, sophomore Tane Bidois, and senior Ruard van Renen finished fifth with an A-cut time of 2:48.83, the seventh-fastest time in program history. Urlando led off with an NCAA cut of 42.27 with van Renen closing at 41.95.
  • Men's 200y Individual Medley – Urlando finished sixth with a season-best NCAA time of 1:42.29, while sophomore Drew Hitchcock placed seventh with an NCAA time of 1:43.84. In prelims, Hitchcock set a new personal best of 1:42.53 to become the seventh-fastest performer in program history. In the consolation final, senior Cale Martter nearly earned the win with a runner-up time of 1:42.55, a season-best mark ranking him eighth in program history. Freshman Finn Wendland finished 22nd with a time of 1:46.35, following a PB of 1:46.07 in prelims.
  • Women's 200y Individual Medley – Maluka finished sixth with a season-best NCAA cut of 1:55.82, matching the time she posted in prelims. Landreneau finished 10th with a personal best NCAA time of 1:57.69, while senior Olivia Della Torre won the bonus final with a season-best mark of 1:59.29.
  • Men's 200y Backstroke – Freshman Hayden Meyers won the consolation final with a time of 1:39.45, tying her personal best and remaining the sixth-fastest performer in program history. Meyers' time was the fifth-fastest of all competitors in the evening session. van Renen took 12th with an NCAA time of 1:40.94, while fellow senior Sam Powe placed 16th at 1:42.39.
  • Men's 100y Freestyle – Bidois finished 21st with a personal-best time of 42.69, becoming the ninth-fastest performer in program history.
  • Women's 200y Backstroke – Sophomore Samantha Rydzewski placed 26th in prelims with a time of 1:57.23. Freshman Hailey Dopson placed 45th with a season-best time of 2:00.51.
  • Women's 100y Freestyle – Sikes placed 27th in prelims with a time of 49.19, followed by senior Emma Norton in 30th at 49.27. Freshman Marin Clem posted a season-best time of 49.60 in 39th place.
