Track & Field Freshman Le’Ezra Brown Resets School Record on Day One of Split Weekend

Clemson, S.C./BOSTON — Georgia track & field wraps up the first day at both Clemson's Tiger Paw Invite and Boston's David Hemery Valentine Invite with a handful of impressive performances on Friday night.

Competition resumes tomorrow in Clemson, S.C. starting with Senior Ella Rush in the women's high jump slated for 9:00 a.m, while competition on the track does not begin until 12:00 p.m. with sophomore Michelle Smith in the women's 800 meter. - Action started in the men's 60 meter hurdles where freshman Le'Ezra Brown's season best effort of 7.57 reset the Georgia school record for the second time this season. Brown first set the record back in January at New Mexico's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational at 7.61. Brown also currently registers as the fastest freshman in the men's 60 meter hurdles this season.
- On the women's side, graduate transfer Shaquena Foote earned her first event win of the season in the 400 meter race with a career-best time of 51.27. Foote's efforts placed her fourth in the 2026 NCAA standings, fifth in Georgia history indoors and ninth in the 2026 world rankings.
- Standout redshirt-freshman Adaejah Hodge posted a career best effort of 7.13 in the women's 60 meter dash – that improves on her third place spot in school history and ranks second in the current NCAA standings.
- In the field, fellow freshman Ava Kitchings also put up an impressive effort in the women's long jump with a season best leap of 6.36m/20-10.50 that earned her second place.
- Meanwhile in Boston to round out the night, junior Ryan Olree's career-best effort of 13:45.68 in the men's 5000 meter race – that ranks him second in school history.
