ATHENS, Ga. --- Senior Grayson Wood of the Georgia men's golf team was named the Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week after finishing tied for first at the Ka'anapali Classic in Hawaii on Tuesday.
Wood finished atop the leaderboard at 11-under 202, carding rounds of 69-67-66 to remain under par throughout the tournament. He recorded 14 birdies and led the field in par-4 scoring while committing just three bogeys across 54 holes. Wood carded only one bogey in each round, playing the remaining 51 holes at par or better. He closed the tournament with a 5-under 66, highlighted by a bogey-free front nine.
Wood's performance helped lead the Bulldogs to a first-place finish in the 20-team field. Georgia finished at 23-under par, marking its best tournament score of the season.
