Becker Named Associate Head Coach of Georgia Equestrian

May 07, 2025 | Equestrian

ATHENS, Ga. – Anna Becker has been promoted to the associate head coach of the Georgia equestrian program effective immediately, head coach Meghan Boenig announced Wednesday.

"It is with great excitement to recognize the years of hard work and exceptional care Coach Becker has provided us," Boenig said. "She is deserving of the recognition, and we just want her to know how important she is to our success. Coach Becker is appreciated."

Becker, the 2021 NCEA Assistant Coach of the Year, has coached the Fences squad as well as recruited for the Jumping Seat discipline since 2018. Under Becker, the Bulldogs won the Fences event at the 2019 NCEA National Championship. The 2025-26 season will mark her eighth season with the Bulldogs.

"This promotion means so much," Becker said. "It has been something that I have been working towards for the seven years I have been working here, and for Meghan and Georgia Athletics to recognize me for that work and dedication to this program really means more than I can express. I am grateful to continue to have the opportunity to work hard and give back to the team, to Georgia, to the NCEA and to the sport of Equestrian. I also look forward to continuing to bring in more championships year after year for this team."

Becker has been responsible for the jumping seat scouting, recruiting and practice planning. She has been integral in meet scheduling and meet and equipment management.

"You can see the particular success of the fence squad over the last year in its's winning percentage, particularly on the road in the event arguably hardest to predict," Boenig said. "Each of her athletes received an MOP this past season, demonstrating depth and talent across all riders. We rely on Coach Becker's keen eye, steadfast support and driven commitment to excellence."

Becker has coached two NCEA National Championship teams, in 2021 and most recently 2025. She has mentored nine NCEA Fences All-Americans, a pair of SEC Freshman of the Year and 15 All-SEC riders.

"The success of our jumping seat team is in large part due to Coach Becker's identification and then development of elite athletes," Boenig said. "She seeks student-athletes who have both broad and well-educated backgrounds in riding many horses in all three arenas. She combines this experience with exceptional work ethic and a driven passion to compete."

Becker helped lead the Bulldogs to their eighth national title this season. The Fences squad posted a 9-6-1 record on the season. The event received the most MOP honors this season with 10. Junior Tessa Brown went undefeated at the national championship and was named an NCEA All-American and All-SEC while collecting SEC Community Service Team accolades. Senior Catalina Peralta and sophomore Madison Nadolenco launched themselves into the Bulldog records, scoring a season-leading 95 to rank third in the all-time Georgia Fences scores.

"Georgia Equestrian means a lot to me," Becker said. "The team is really something special. It has been fun to get to know so many impressive young women over these last seven years and be even a small part of their success in and out of the arena. The academic and athletic success at this university is second to none. We have so many people here within this program that really want to be here and work hard towards a common goal. The dynamic between the entire team, Jumping Seat and Western, that has been built and cultivated each year is something that is uniquely special to Georgia Equestrian. Earning two national championships since I started has been an amazing accomplishment and something that just shows how being a cohesive group can lead to success. I am just grateful to be a part of it."

Becker joined the Georgia staff after being a Hunt Seat coach at Kansas State from 2013-2015. She helped coach the team to back-to-back undefeated records at home as well as a Big 12 Reserve Champion finish in 2015. She has coached several riders to All-Big 12, Big 12 Rider of the Year and NCEA All-America recognitions.

"I feel incredibly grateful for the family we have at Georgia Equestrian," Boenig said. "Combining the years of service of our Coaches, managers and program specialist you have over a half a century of dedicated and loyal Dawgs. It is truly special to have these exceptionally talented women driving together with trust and passion. They each give tirelessly in their determination to provide the very best for the Mane Dawgs and for each other. We have the dream team."

A collegiate rider herself, Becker contributed to two SEC Championships, two Hunt Seat National Championships, and two team National Championships at Auburn University from 2010-2013. She graduated Cum Laude with a degree in marketing then went on to receive a master's degree in Sports Business from NYU.

"I would like to shoutout a lot of people that have helped me in my coaching career, including my own coaches during my time as a student-athlete — Greg Williams, Lindsey (Neubarth) Jabkiewicz, and Jessica Braswell — who taught me about working hard and planting a seed for those who follow in my footsteps," Becker said. "I also would like to thank the first coach that I worked under during my time at Kansas State, Casie Maxwell — who taught me how to bring out the best in student-athletes and empower them to be their best. A huge thank you to Meghan and the entire Georgia Equestrian staff for helping me to thrive in this role and working day in and day out for the success of this storied program. Lastly, I would like to thank this team, and every young woman that I have had the opportunity to coach in my career. They have all helped me in my journey to continue to be better every day, and to always "be where my feet are."
