Floyd, Smith Post Top Finishes For Bulldogs At LSU Invitational

BATON ROUGE, La. --- Will Floyd stormed to victory in the 400-meter dash while Michelle Smith posted the top collegiate finish in the 400-meter hurdles as the Bulldogs concluded the outdoor regular season at the LSU Invitational on Saturday.

- Competing in the 400m for just the second time this outdoor season, Floyd clocked a 45.30 to win the 400m by 0.10 seconds. He led a group of three Bulldogs in the event's top five as Shemar Chambers and Ervin Pearson each posted times of 45.53 to tie for fourth.
- Smith ran a blazing time of 54.62 to finish as the top collegiate finisher and second overall in the 400m hurdles. The freshman was just 0.06 off her own school record time of 54.56, set at the Florida Relays earlier this season, and finished nearly two seconds ahead of the next collegian in Baton Rouge.
- Jayden Keys recorded an opening jump of 7.74 meters/25 feet, 4.75 inches to place second in the long jump. The freshman recorded his top jump of the season with the mark.
- The women's 4x100-meter relays team of Kaila Jackson, Sole Frederick, Sanaa Frederick, and Dejanea Oakley finished just 0.06 off of first place, taking runner-up honors with a time of 43.07. The quartet moved to third in program history with their performance in Baton Rouge.
- The men's 4x100m relay team of Micah Larry, Brody Buffington, Jehlani Gordon, and Will Floyd also improved their positioning on the Georgia all-time top-10 list, clocking a 38.88 to place third at the LSU Invitational. Already third in program history in the event, the squad improved their mark by 0.12 with their performance Saturday.
