ATHENS, Ga. – University of Central Florida transfer Santiago Giamichelle and Ohio State University transfer Will Jansen have signed with the Bulldogs for the 2025-26 season, head coach Jamie Hunt announced on Thursday afternoon.
"I am very excited to add Will and Santi to our squad for next year," said Hunt. "They are both experienced players who have had success in both singles and doubles. I look forward to getting them here and getting to work."
Giamichelle, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, arrives in Athens after spending the last two season with the University of Central Florida. Prior to his time with the Knights, the Argentine played one season for the University of Texas-Arlington Mavericks. Over the course of his career, Giamichelle has recorded a 57-28 singles record along with a 54-33 mark in doubles. Last season for UCF, he played primarily on courts four and five and boasted 9-1 and 6-4 records, respectively. Overall, throughout dual match play in 2025, Giamichelle went 15-5 and helped the Knights to a super-regional appearance against TCU.
The rising senior was named to the 2025 Big-12 All-Tournament Doubles Team will holding team captain honors for the season. As a sophomore, Giamichelle was crowned doubles champion of the ITA Southeast Regional Championship. He holds a career-high doubles ranking of No. 20 and defeated the No. 13-ranked duo of Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc and Joshua Dous-Karpenschif (Florida State) in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
While a freshman at UT-Arlington, Giamichelle was named the Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year with a 19-13 overall singles record and a 14-6 nod in dual play. He was also named to the 2024 1st Team All-WAC Singles Team and the 2024 2nd Team All-WAC Doubles Team in his lone season with the Mavericks while also receiving Academic All-WAC honors.
Jansen, a native of London, England, steps on to campus as a rising senior with one year of experience with the Buckeyes after spending his first two collegiates seasons at the University of North Carolina. As a Tar Heel, he compiled a 15-6 dual singles record during his freshman season including two ranked victories before an injury-riddled sophomore campaign held him to just a 7-8 dual singles mark with three ranked victories. In doubles for North Carolina, Jansen held a 20-11 record playing primarily alongside Karl Poling. In one season for Ohio State, Jansen posted a 12-10 overall singles record, going 10-6 in the spring and totaled 21 doubles wins – three of which were ranked victories. He helped the Buckeyes to a 28-4 record this past spring and reached a super-regional against No. 12 Mississippi State.
The London native has been ranked as high as No. 35 in the ITA singles rankings and No. 23 in the ITA doubles rankings. Jansen was named a 2024-25 ITA Doubles All-American after reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA doubles championships last November. He currently holds a 13.13 Universal Tennis Rating and entered the collegiate scene as the highest ranked junior in every age group in the United Kingdom. Jansen was also crowned the 2021 British 18U National Champion as a junior. A graduate of the Reed's School in London, Jansen featured in the 2022 Wimbledon Junior Championships as a wild card entry.
Giamichelle and Jansen are the latest transfers in the Bulldogs 2025-25 class joining California transfer Derrick Chen and incoming freshman Gus Almeida and Noah Johnston.
