Loflin Leads Bulldogs through NCAA Championship Round One

GREENSBORO, GA — The Georgia men's golf team teed off in the first round of the NCAA Championship this morning at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California. Competing against a fierce field of thirty teams, the Bulldogs ended play tonight in eleventh place at a collective three-over.

FAST FACTS

Junior Carter Loflin had a standout performance in the first round with a birdie-free 18. Ending the first round at five-under he tees off tomorrow tied for second place.
In his final collegiate tournament, Senior Buck Brumlow shot two-over in the first round the end play tied for 63rd in Carlsbad.
Senior George Langham, Sophomore Grayson Wood, and Freshman Matt Moloney ended round one tied for 79th place at three over par on the west coast.
Freshman James Earle traveled with the Bulldogs in the substitute role following his participation in the Tallahassee Regional.
No. 22 Georgia ended the first round of stroke play in eleventh place. The leaderboard is currently topped by No. 6 Oklahoma at eight-under. The Podium is rounded out by No. 9 Florida State, No. 7 Florida, and No. 4 Texas, all shooting three-under on the first day. The field is comprised of No. 1 Auburn, No. 19 BYU, No. 12 Illinois, No. 29 Colorado, No. 49 California, No. 24 Texas Tech, No. 16 Vanderbilt, No. 46 Troy, No. 2 Oklahoma State, No. 27 USF, No. 26 Georgia Tech, No. 3 Ole Miss, No. 21 Pepperdine, No. 39 San Diego, August, No. 40 Wake Forest, No. 11 Texas A&M, No. 42 New Mexico, No. 31 UNLV, No. 10 Virginia, No. 14 UCLA, No. 20 South Carolina, No. 23 Tennessee, and No. 36 Purdue.
