Trio of Bulldogs Named Ariat NCEA All-Americans

WACO, Texas – Three University of Georgia equestrians have been named to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's Ariat All-America teams, the association accounted Tuesday.
 
Junior Tessa Brown was named first team Fences, graduate Sophia Pilla earned second team Flat nods and junior Alyvia Dixon received honorable mention for Horsemanship.
 
Brown, a Bloomfield, Connecticut native, has compiled a 9-3-1 record this season with two Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors. She currently leads all Bulldogs in Fences wins with nine. The Public Relations major has ridden to seven scores of 85 or better this season. She was previously named NCEA Fences Rider of the Month in October.
 
Pilla, who was recently named the SEC Equestrian Scholar-Athlete of the Year, owns a team leading 9-3 record in Flat. She has recorded a 5-2 Southeastern Conference record and collected three MOP honors. She has ridden to four of the top-five scores in Flat this season, with an 83.05 average score.
 
Dixon has collected the most wins in Horsemanship this season and wrapped up SEC competition with a 5-1-1 record. She leads the event with six wins. The Hickory Corners, Michigan native rode to her season high with a score of 76 against No. 1 Auburn to tie her for the third-highest score in the event this season.
 
Georgia has enjoyed a two-week break and is set to travel to Ocala, Florida for the NCEA National Championship April 17-19. The Bulldogs received the seven-seed in the competition and will face second-seeded Auburn in the quarterfinals.
