
Bulldogs Complete First Day Of Competition At SEC Championship

BELLEAIR, Fla. — The Georgia women's golf team completed the first round of stroke play at the SEC Championship on Monday, shooting 306 as a team at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla.

·       The Bulldogs finished the first day in 16th place with a round-one score of 26-over 306 on the par 70 course.
·       Senior Kate Song carded the Bulldogs' best round of the day with a 2-over 72 to tie for 38th. She sunk a birdie on hole 14 before shooting par on each of her final nine holes of the day across the Pelican Golf Club's front nine.
·       Graduate student Chantal El Chaib counted a 73 to finish the day at 3-over, leading the Bulldogs with birdies on holes 15 and 9. She heads into day two of competition tied for 48th place.
·       Georgia also counted rounds from sophomores Celine Brovold Sanne (80) and Morgan Smith (81), who are T-75th(+10) and 77th (+11) on the leaderboard, respectively. Fellow sophomore Grace Frei rounded out the Bulldogs' round one scores with an 84.

The Bulldogs will compete in the SEC Championship's second round on Tuesday, which begins at 8 a.m. Georgia is paired with golfers from Missouri, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt and will tee off from hole 10 approximately every 10 minutes between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.Â
