Georgia Receives NCEA Academic Honors

WACO, Texas – 32 members of the Georgia equestrian team were recognized by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association for their efforts in the classroom, the NCEA announced Thursday.
 
Graduate Sophia Pilla, fifth-year Jordan Toering, seniors Jax Bound, Jordan Davis, juniors Tessa Brown, Isabella David, Alyvia Dixon, Melissa Deryn Foster, Jessica Guginsky and sophomore Tessa Downey were placed on the NCEA APHA All-Academic First Team. Recipients must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of the school's meets. They also must have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters.
 
Sophomore Abbey Zawisza and juniors Shelby Lynch and Raegan Shepherd earned spots on the second team, which is given to those who earn a 3.25 GPA. Sophomore Kennedy Buchanan and senior Catalina Peralta were awarded honorable mention for earning a 3.0 or better.
 
Lyla Bellar, Bound, Maggie Bresch, Brown, Parker Cliff, Kinsey Cooper, Liza Cram, Sarina Da Cruz, David, Davis, Dixon, Downey, Ella Duffy, Quinn Eisenfeld, Josie Evans, Foster, Guginsky, Aggie Hahn, Madison Hill, Lynch, Kendall McClintock, Shea McCoy, Madison Nadolenco, Aphrodite Papandreou, Pilla, Shepherd, Arden Stromnes, Toering, Devin VanZanten and Zawisza represented the Bulldogs on the NCEA Academic Honor Roll. The top academic student-athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment earn a spot on the list.
 
Next, the Bulldogs are seeded seventh for the NCEA National Championship taking place April 17-19 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida. The Bulldogs are set to face second-seeded Auburn in the first round.
