Eight Bulldogs Invited to NCAA Championships

ATHENS, Ga. – Eight members of the University of Georgia women's swimming and diving team were invited to the 2024 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday morning.
The eight Bulldogs, joined by four relay alternates, will head to Federal Way, Washington for the event, running March 19-22 at the Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center. With eight selections, Georgia is tied with Alabama for the fourth-most among SEC institutions.
The Bulldogs' senior class leads the NCAA roster with Duné Coetzee, Eboni McCarty, Abby McCulloh, and Rachel Stege each finishing their careers with invitations in all four seasons. McCulloh, the defending national champion in the 1,650y freestyle, is seeded third in the event and 16th in the 500y freestyle. Stege holds the No. 8 seed in the 500y freestyle, while Coetzee is qualified in three events and McCarty in two.
Juniors Shea Furse and Ieva Maluka and sophomore Helena Jones are each making their second appearance, with Maluka qualified in three events. Freshman Marie Landreneau will debut at NCAAs in her rookie season, ranking 12th in the 200y freestyle.
Georgia has also selected four student-athletes as relay alternates: graduates Sloane Reinstein and Julianna Stephens, senior Bri Roberson, and freshman Katie Belle Sikes. Sikes was also ranked as the No. 8 national alternate for her time of 20.03 in the 50y freestyle. Divers Hannah Stumpf and Nyla Thompson will compete next week at the Zone B Diving Championships in Auburn, Alabama for the opportunity to join the roster.
The invitations for the 2025 NCAA Men's Division I Swimming & Diving Championships, also being held in Federal Way on March 26-29, will be announced next Wednesday.
