Pilla Named Arion Sellier NCEA February Flat Rider of the Month
March 05, 2025 | Equestrian
WACO, Texas – University of Georgia graduate Sophia Pilla was recognized for her performance in February as the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Flat Rider of the Month presented by Arion Sellier, the association announced Thursday.
The Ridgefield, Conn. native was awarded her third NCEA monthly award after she was the only Bulldog equestrian to finish February with a perfect, 3-0 record. She earned her 11th career Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honor with a 91-point ride against top-ranked Auburn.
Pilla inked her name into the top Flat riders in the Southeastern Conference with a 92-point ride at Texas A&M. This is the second highest score in the league and tied for the highest by a Bulldog in Flat this season. Her rides against the Tigers and Aggies contributed to her average score of 90 for February.
The graduate is 8-3 on the season with three MOPs.
The Bulldogs will enjoy a three week break before traveling to Mill Spring, N.C. to host the SEC Championship at the Tryon International Equestrian Center. The meet will be a two-day event over March 28-29 and will conclude with an SEC Champion being crowned following Saturday's competition.
