Bulldogs In 12th Place After 36 Holes At Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Chantal El Chaib led the Bulldogs with a 2-over 73 individual effort as the Georgia women's golf team moved to 12th place after the second round of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Tuesday.

·       El Chaib sunk two birdies and four bogeys as part of her team-leading round of 73 on Tuesday. Entering the day in 51stplace, the graduate student climbed 14 places into a tie for 37th with an overall score of +7 through two rounds of play.
·       Morgan Smith carded a 75 to serve as Georgia's second counter on Tuesday. The sophomore sunk nine-straight pars starting on hole 15 and wrapping around to hole 5, bringing her overall score to +8 (T-46th) through two rounds.
·       Celine Brovold Sanne and Kate Song both shot 5-over 76 in the second round to move to +7 overall and into a tie with El Chaib for 37th place. Brovold Sanne birdied on back-to-back holes on holes 6 and 7 while Song shot par on eight of her last nine holes.
·       Georgia remains 24 strokes back of the lead with 18 holes left to play. The Bulldogs are just three strokes back of Alabama and Ohio State as they look to rise up the leaderboard on the final day of competition on Wednesday.
