ATHENS, Ga. – Georgia native James Weber has signed with the Bulldogs for the 2026-27 season, head coach Jamie Hunt announced on Wednesday.
"James has grown up watching Georgia tennis and knows what this program is all about," said Hunt. "He bleeds Red and Black and is ready to give everything he has to this team. I'm thrilled he is joining us in the Fall and am excited about his future here. I can't wait to get to work with him."
A five-star recruit out of Marietta, Georgia, Weber is the No. 34-ranked junior in the nation and the No. 3-ranked player in the state of Georgia. He also holds an ITF Juniors ranking of 240 and a World Tennis Number of 17.5. Weber owns a 45-18 record as a junior with an impressive 15-6 nod against other five-star recruits and a 17-2 mark against four-star recruits.
Weber was also named the 2025 USTA Al Parker Junior Player of the Year, as well as finishing as a doubles quarterfinalist at Kalamazoo this year. He owns two ITF juniors singles titles and two ITF juniors doubles titles – including the 2024 Pan-American Championships.
Weber becomes the first member of the Bulldogs' 2026-27 signing class.
