Georgia Falls in Back-and-Forth Match at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Georgia volleyball team fell to the Alabama Crimson Tide in five sets on Sunday at Foster Auditorium (25-23, 26-28, 25-22, 18-25, 11-15).

The closely fought match featured 47 ties and 17 lead changes.
Graduate Sophie Fischer tied a season-high 21 kills to lead the Bulldogs. She added two aces, seven digs, and nine blocks.
Georgia had three players top double-digit kills: Fischer (21), Erykah Lovett (15), and Estelle Haugen (10).
Senior libero Bailey Cox put up a team-best 14 digs in the match.
Sophomore Bianna Muoneke made her from injury on Sunday, adding five kills on 15 attempts with a pair of aces and four digs.

The Bulldogs return to Stegeman Coliseum for a three-match homestand beginning next weekend when Georgia hosts South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 11 for 10K Day.

Georgia will look to break the Georgia state attendance record for an NCAA volleyball match that evening. The first 2,000 fans will take home a 10K Day t-shirt. The first 2,000 UGA students will get a replica jersey and all students in attendance will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the match including an all-expenses-paid trip to the Georgia-Florida football game courtesy of the Georgia Lottery.
