Olree, Yonas Lead Georgia Cross Country Again At Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Georgia men's and women's cross country teams finished fifth and ninth, respectively, at the Crimson Classic behind top-20 performances from sophomore Ryan Olree and freshman Izzy Yonas.

Fast Facts
·      The Georgia men tallied 162 points to finish fifth out of 14 teams in the 8k race to open the day. The women followed in the 6k event and took ninth out of 18 squads in Tuscaloosa with 208 points.
·      Olree topped the Bulldogs' team leaderboard for the third-straight meet, finishing 11th overall with a time of 23:43.1. Seniors KC Heron and Zack Trutt completed the 8k back-to-back in 35th and 36th place with respective times of 24:26.2 and 24:28.0. Heron and Truitt both tallied points for the second-consecutive meet with their performances.
·      Redshirt sophomore Mark Trammell and freshman Joseph Minecci rounded out the scorers for the Georgia men, placing 43rd and 49th with times of 24:37.4 and 24:44.8, respectively. Trammell has tallied points in his last two performances for the Bulldogs while Minecci's placement was good for his first collegiate scoring effort.
·      On the women's side, Yonas clocked a 20:27.3 to place 18th, leading the Lady Bulldogs across the finish line for the second meet in a row. Junior Lorel Golden (43rd – 20:55.1) and freshman Kate Robinson (46th– 20:58.7) crossed the finish line second and third for Georgia. Both Lady Bulldogs have scored in all three meets this season.
·      Senior Gracie O'Neal and junior Katherine Law completed the 6k in 21:19.7 and 21:22.0 to place 66thand 70th, respectively. O'Neal joined Yonas, Golden, and Robinson in scoring in each meet this season while Law made her season debut and posted the seventh scoring performance of her career.

Up Next
The Bulldogs will open postseason competition with the Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday, Nov. 1. The meet will take place in College Station, Texas, with Texas A&M hosting. The Bulldogs will then head to Tallahassee, Fla., for the NCAA South Regional on Nov. 15. Those who qualify will continue their season at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 23 in Madison, Wis.
