SALT LAKE CITY, Utah --- The No. 9 Georgia gymnastics team dropped a 197.675-197.125 decision to No. 5 Utah in the regular-season finale on Saturday in front of 15,403 at the Huntsman Center.

The Gymdogs (5-8) reached 197 or better in their third straight meet, two of which were on the road.

"I think this meet shows that we are continuing to build on the momentum that we started last Friday against Auburn," Georgia head coach Danna Durante said. "Three 197s in a row, our third meet in 10 days or so, and a week on the road really shows what this team is made of. This is the right time to be hitting our stride. We showed tremendous fight and tremendous determination. We finished really strong on balance beam, which is something that we have been working on. I'm so proud of them as a team."

"Our biggest thing coming in was just to build and I think we did that," senior Mary Beth Box said. "There are some little things that we can still perfect and get that extra one percent that we all can give. I'm super proud of our team and I'm excited to see where we go into postseason."

The Gymdogs will return to action next Saturday in the SEC Championship in North Little Rock, Ark. Nos. 5-8 will compete at 2 p.m., followed by Nos. 1-4 at 6 p.m. Georgia went 4-3 against SEC foes this season and finished fifth.
