ATHENS, Ga.-The Georgia soccer team (3-10-1, 2-6) fell in the 109th minute, 1-0 to Alabama (5-9-2, 2-6) during a tightly contested game on senior night at the Turner Soccer Complex.

With under one minute and thirty seconds to play Georgia goalkeeper Louise Hogrell wasn't able to clear a ball in the box quick enough as Alabama's Lacey Clarida won the one on one battle and scored the game-winner.

Head coach Billy Lesesne was disappointed with the outcome, but saw bright spots in a few players who stepped up.

"I thought we defended well," Lesesne said. "We've had a lot of injuries across the backline. We had some players who hadn't played very many minutes step in and do a great job for us. If we get Bria and Emma healthy again that would be helpful. They've battle through some adversity and defended pretty well. Again we didn't finish the chances when we had them and it came back to haunt us."

Hogrell finished the game with seven saves, including several late in each over time period. The Bulldogs had chances in both the first and second-halves to put some points on the scoreboard, but were unable to fully pull everything together.

Alabama outshot Georgia 18 to 17 overall in the game. Georgia held the corner kicks margin six to three.

The Bulldogs return to action next Friday when the teams travels to Nashville, Tennessee to take on Vanderbilt at 8 p.m. ET. The team rounds out the weekend with a trip to Auburn on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET.
