ATHENS, Ga. - The Georgia volleyball team took a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-21) victory over the Tennessee Lady Vols on Sunday, Oct. 19, at the Ramsey Center in Athens, Ga. The Bulldogs are now 10-9 overall and 2-5 in the Southeastern Conference. Tennessee falls to 7-15 on its season and 0-8 in SEC.

"I thought we executed our game plan really well and stayed sharp from point one until the very end," said Coach Lizzy Stemke. "We wanted to keep our confidence high as we have been improving and playing better volleyball. We took our improvements and aggressive play into the match against Tennessee today."

Tirah Le'au picked up her ninth double-double of the season, leading both the Georgia offense and defense with 11 kills and 11 digs, while also adding an impressive four aces to the match. Jasmine Eatmon followed close behind offensively, pitching in nine kills and hitting at a staggering .818 efficiency. Kaylee Kehoe and Kendall Kazor paced Georgia's strong offense with 17 and 16 assists, respectively. Defensively, Desiree McCray posted four blocks as Gaby Smiley added nine digs.

Georgia jumped to a quick lead in the first set as the Bulldog offense set a dominant pace at 10-5. Back-to-back kills by Le'au kept the offensive momentum running as the team kept the lead at 17-10. The Lady Vols then went on a 3-0 run to try and build their own momentum at 18-16, but the Tennessee spurt did not last long as the Georgia offense answered back. Kills by Eatmon and McCray gave the Bulldogs set point as a stuff block by McCray and Megan Spencer sealed the Georgia victory 25-17.

The Bulldogs continued to build their confidence as the team refused to let up any momentum with a 4-0 start in the second set. Le'au's fourth ace of the match pushed the Georgia lead to 10-2. The Bulldog offense was unstoppable as two kills from Amanda Dachs and one from Lauren Teknipp widened the team's lead to 12 points at 17-5. Tennessee fought hard to come back in the set but the Georgia offense would not let up with a 21-12 lead. A final setter dump by Kehoe gave Georgia the 25-17 set win that put the Bulldogs up 2-0.

The two teams exchanged points back and forth in the beginning of the third set as a couple of Bulldog errors kept Tennessee close behind with Georgia at an 8-5 lead. Both sides of the net continued to alternate points through the rest of the set as the two team's defenses struggled to find a rhythm. A quick line kill by Spencer pushed the lead to four with Georgia at a 20-16 edge. A great connection between Kazor and Eatmon in the middle gave the Bulldogs their set and match win at 25-21.

Georgia will travel next weekend to College Station, Texas as the team will first take on the No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. ET., before heading to Baton Rouge, La., to battle the LSU Tigers on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. ET.
