Stockton Included As Walter Camp Player Of The Year Semifinalist

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia redshirt junior QB Gunner Stockton has been named a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year, according to announcements from the Watler Camp Football Foundation.
Stockton, a native of Tiger, Ga., is one of seven players from the Southeastern Conference on the 20-man list. Three finalists will be announced later this month and the 59th recipient of the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, along with the 136th edition of the Walter Camp All-American Team, will be announced on the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 12.
Stockton has already been named a Maxwell Award semifinalist and to the Davey O'Brien QB Class of 2025 and to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Top 10 this season.
Stockton has accounted for 22 touchdowns (15 passing, seven rushing) in his first season starting behind center for the Bulldogs. He ranks 14th nationally in Completion Percentage (69 percent) after completing 179 of 258 passes with only a pair of interceptions. Directing an offense that has featured six different starting offensive line units, Stockton has led Georgia to five SEC victories where the Bulldogs trailed either early or late in the game, including wins at No. 15 Tennessee and versus No. 5 Ole Miss.
The No. 5 Bulldogs (8-1, 6-1 SEC) will play host to No. 10 Texas (7-2, 4-1) on Saturday. ABC will televise the matchup at 7:30 p.m. on Dooley Field in Sanford Stadium. SEC Nation will also visit Athens for the second time this season and be set up at Myers Quad.
